Lupin III: The First English voice cast revealed!

Lupin III: The First English voice cast revealed!

The English voice cast for the upcoming North American release of Lupin III: The First has finally been revealed, and it’s excellent news for old-school Lupin fans!

Four members of the original 2003 Geneon / Pioneer Part II English dub will reprise their roles in the film, along with Doug Erholtz, who has done a fantastic job at taking on the role of Inspector Zenigata since the localisation of the Part IV series.

Tony Oliver, Michelle Ruff, Richard Epcar and Lex Lang are back as Lupin III, Fujiko Mine, Jigen Daisuke and Goemon Ishikawa XIII.

In addition to the welcome news of the returning voice cast, Laurie C. Hymes has been confirmed to be playing the films new female lead Laetitia, J. David Brimmer as Lambert and Paul Guyet as the villainous Gerard.

An English website for the film is now online, however currently redirects to the website of the films distributor, GKIDS. Keep your eyes peeled though, as we suspect something more substantial may appear at the above web address once we get closer to release!

A press-kit is currently available for download on the site, which includes a poster featuring the slick new English logo. Also included is a PDF containing some behind the scenes details, an interview with the films director Takashi Yamazaki, and various quotes from the series’ creator Kazuhiko Katō (Monkey Punch).

The poster has a very Fast & Furious vibe, and it looks great!

While there is still no air date for the film in North America, the wheels now appear to be very much in motion and we can only hope GKIDS announce more details in the coming weeks and months ahead.

Be sure to stay tuned to Lupin Central for more details, or if you can’t wait, check out our “first look” of the film by clicking here!
